ABOUT THE COMPANY

Over the last five years, we have run Nigeria's largest active tomato farm in Kaduna, when Mira Mehta encountered her first tomato market glut in Northern Nigeria. Nigerian farmers produced about 65% of the tomatoes grown in West Africa, but paradoxically was also the largest importer of tomato paste in the world. Tomato Jos took advantage of this opportunity by solving a vital problem. Why import all that tomato paste when Nigeria has surplus amounts of tomatoes? produced 7 billion tomatoes, with yield 7x above national yield average. Today, we have begun processing tomato paste at our $5 million plant in Kaduna State and with our farm in Kangimi, in Igabi Local Government Area, Tomato Jos has already impacted on its community, creating jobs and empowering its outgrowers with modern farming techniques and a route to market. Tomato Jos has 50 full-time employees, 20 additional local security staff members patrolling the fields and 350 partner farmers who receive support and education to increase their crop yields for supply to the company.

JOB SUMMARY

Requirements and Skills B.Sc. in Accountancy or related discipline Must be a member of ICAN, ACCA, or CIA Minimum of 5 years of audit experience in a reputable organization Attention to detail and critical thinking. Investigation and analytical skills. Knowledge of internal auditing standards, responsibilities, code of ethics, and certification Working knowledge of the agricultural and manufacturing industry is an advantage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Description / Duties Determine internal audit scope and develop annual plans. Obtain, analyze, and evaluate accounting documentation and reports. Perform pre- and post-payment audits, as well as audits of inventory and fixed assets. Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion and cost-saving measures. Prepare and present reports that document audit findings and recommendations. Conduct a follow-up audit to monitor progress. Act as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality, and goal. achievement. Safeguard the company's assets by establishing and ensuring compliance with the company’s policies and procedures. Make recommendations to enhance the internal control system. Perform and Manage ad-hoc or special audit assignments and investigations. Work with process owners to implement external audit management letter recommendations.
