Job Description

  • The Head of Accounts holds a pivotal leadership role, steering the financial accounting aspects of the company.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Oversight:

  • Lead and manage the accounting department, encompassing all facets of financial accounting, from accounts payable and receivable to payroll and general ledger.

Financial Reporting:

  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in strict accordance with accounting standards.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

  • Develop and uphold robust internal controls and procedures to safeguard the integrity of financial reporting.
  • Coordinate and prepare for external audits, guaranteeing unwavering compliance with accounting standards and regulatory mandates.

Financial Analysis and Decision Support:

  • Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations, empowering management to make well-informed business decisions.

Tax Management:

  • Oversee tax planning and compliance, collaborating closely with tax advisors and auditors.

Cash Flow Management and Budgeting:

  • Manage cash flow forecasting and play a pivotal role in overseeing budget preparation and analysis.

Systems Implementation:

  • Implement and maintain cutting-edge accounting systems and software, enhancing efficiency and precision.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the accounting team, including training, performance evaluation, and fostering career development.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration:

  • Collaborate seamlessly with other departments, contributing to the overarching financial management strategy of the company.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA is essential.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial accounting, with a significant portion in a managerial role.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, standards IFRS, GAAP, and tax regulations.
  • Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and auditing.
  • Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems.
