Job Summary:
The dentist is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and advising patients on various oral health issues. This includes providing preventive care, conducting regular check-ups, and performing procedures such as fillings, extractions, root canals, and cosmetic treatments. The dentist works closely with dental hygienists, assistants, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality dental care to patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
- Conduct thorough oral examinations to assess the condition of patients’ teeth, gums, and overall oral health.
- Diagnose dental conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Perform dental procedures, including cleanings, fillings, extractions, crowns, bridges, dentures, and root canals.
- Provide preventive care, such as fluoride treatments, sealants, and oral hygiene advice.
- Administer anesthesia and perform dental surgeries as required.
- Educate patients on oral health best practices, diet, and preventive care.
- Manage patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Professional Development:
- Stay updated on the latest dental practices, techniques, and technologies.
- Attend professional dental seminars and training as required.
- Participate in continuing education to maintain a current and valid dental license.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with dental hygienists, dental assistants, and office staff to ensure the smooth operation of the dental practice.
- Coordinate care with specialists when necessary, such as orthodontists, periodontists, and oral surgeons.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Doctor of Dental Surgery DDS or Doctor of Dental Medicine DMD degree from an accredited dental school.
Licensure:
- Valid dental license
Experience:
- Experience in a clinical setting is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
Skills:
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
