ABOUT THE COMPANY

The Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) was established through an Act of the Parliament in 1960. The Act, referred to as the Nigerian Red Cross Act of 1960, CAP 324 states in Section 5 (1) that ‘the Society shall be recognised by the Government of the Federation as a Voluntary Aid Society, auxiliary to the public authorities…’ This shows that we are a creation of the Federal Government of Nigeria and statutorily meant to complement public authorities in the area of humanitarian interventions. Our mandate is derived from the aforementioned Act of Parliament and the Geneva Conventions of which Nigeria is a state party.

JOB SUMMARY

Qualifications and Experience Minimum of National Diploma Certificate or relevant University Degree Minimum of 3years’ experience in Administration

RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Duties and Duties Manage the Divisional office on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the Statutes and Regulations of the National Society. Initiate and organize the Red Cross activities within the Division according to objectives and policies set at the Branch and National levels. Keep the division and Divisional committee regularly updated on all programmes activities. Coordinate, supervise and monitor through the Branch Secretary all funded programmatic activities. Abide by and enforce all National Society policies, rules and procedures particularly those affecting the fundamental principles, emblem and code of conduct. Plan and coordinate Pillar 1 activities and orientation of volunteers and members at the Divisions Expand the membership and ensure the effective collection of membership dues. Liaise with the Local Government   agencies to ensure the smooth running of the Division and its operations. Planning of Advocacy visits to the LGA authorities and individuals within the community Ensure the safety and maintenance of the Division property including all relevant documents. Prepare the Branch budget and plans with advice of the Divisional Coordinator Report monthly, quarterly and annual activities of the Division Plan motherly ,quarterly and annual meetings of the Divisional Committee Serves as Secretary to the Divisional Committee  Duties Applicable to all Staff: Actively work towards the achievement of the NRCS goals Abide by and work in accordance with the Red Cross Fundamental Principles and NRCS Statutes Show capacity to assist other members of staff and management, aptitude for maintaining cooperation and team spirit necessary to achieve the objectives of the National Society Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by Line Manager

REQUIRED SKILLS
