Join our team at SMS as a Ladle Crane Operator and play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our hot metal crane.

• Operate a cab-controlled overhead crane with precision and care, working in close proximity to molten steel and slag.
• Transport hot metal for processing, empty ladles after use, and coordinate with the melt shop team to ensure seamless operations.
• Lead by example in upholding safety practices, policies, and procedures, and cross-train other team members in the hot metal crane operator position.
• Monitor the functioning of the machine during and outside of process, identifying and reporting any irregularities to the Manager/In-Charge.
• Document all activities in logbooks, records, and checklists, ensuring accurate and detailed reporting.

• OND/HND or mechanical engineering background is an advantage.
• Proven knowledge of processes, tools, and techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy are essential in this role.
