Job Description
- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Anesthetist to join our team.
- The Nurse Anesthetist will be responsible for administering anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical, diagnostic, or therapeutic procedures, ensuring optimal patient care and safety.
Responsibilities
- Ensure adequate stock levels are maintained in the anesthetic rooms at all times and that non-stock requisition orders are dealt with appropriately.
- Commit to expanding existing skills and assisting in the planning and implementation of the anesthetic and peri-operative assessment nursing role.
- Develop good interpersonal relationships with nursing staff through effective communication and sound management systems.
- Ensure optimal use of manpower resources through careful planning and monitoring of off-duty scheduling.
- Provide direction to all staff within the department on the proper handling of materials, apparatus, and tools for patient care.
- Participate in training programs to achieve personal development and specialization.
- Conduct pre- and post-operative education by providing verbal instructions to patients' families or guardians during the pre-operative period about the surgical experience.
- Serve as the communication liaison between the family and members of the operating team.
- Interact with patients, families, and visitors in a mature, courteous, and responsible manner to ensure a positive and professional hospital environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior leadership.

Requirements
- Registration with the National Association of Nurses and Midwifery of Nigeria
- Must be licensed to practice as an anesthetic nurse
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Certificate of Nurse Anesthesia Program.
- 1-3 years experience.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office package
- Outstanding communication oral and written, interpersonal, and people management skills
- Possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act
- Knowledge of safety and injection control practices.
