RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaboration: Work closely with team members and business stakeholders to set acceptance criteria for business intelligence projects, ensuring testing is integral to the design and estimation of new software.
- Testing: Develop and implement testing plans encompassing a blend of manual and automated testing, meticulously documenting issues using structured tools and standards.
- Data Analysis: Dive deep into data analysis, striving for comprehensive evaluation beyond the 'happy path' defined by developers, addressing unexpected scenarios to align with business objectives.
- Automation: Promote a culture of automation and repeatability in business intelligence projects, with a focus on testing ETL processes and reports, as well as enhancing BI software deployment practices.
- Monitoring: Contribute to the design, implementation, and utilization of monitoring tools to detect and resolve issues, ensuring seamless data integration into warehouses.
- Data Governance: Support effective data governance practices, encompassing data quality, management, policies, process handling, and risk management related to business data.
- Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to address Business Intelligence-related issues raised, conducting regression testing following defect fixes.
What You Should Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, exhibiting strong academic performance.
- Minimum of 4 years of practical experience in BI testing (ETL, reporting).
- Passion for the transformative potential of Business Intelligence on core business functions.
- Sharp intellect, eagerness to learn, and innate curiosity.
- Familiarity with Microsoft technologies, particularly Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, and SSRS, as well as openness to exploring Big Data solutions as our data landscape evolves.
- Functional comprehension of data warehouse design and dimension modeling.
- Proficiency in ETL processes and version control; exposure to continuous delivery and automated testing is advantageous.
- Experience or interest in results-driven, lean/agile settings.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in fast-paced environments with effective communication skills.
