Function Mission

  • The Experienced Surveyor is responsible for conducting, leading, and performing land measurements, surveys, and mapping activities to provide accurate data and information for construction projects, land development, infrastructure planning, and property transactions.
  • The Surveyor utilize expertise in surveying techniques, equipment, and regulations to ensure precision, integrity, and compliance in surveying operations.
  • The Surveyor leads survey teams, interprets data, communicates findings, and contributes to project success through their comprehensive surveying knowledge and leadership abilities.



Responsibilities



May include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and conduct complex land surveys, topographic surveys, construction surveys, boundary surveys, and other specialized surveys using advanced surveying equipment and techniques.
  • Oversee surveying operations, including planning, data collection, analysis, and reporting, to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Interpret survey data, measurements, and boundary information to establish property boundaries, legal descriptions, and land features accurately and in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to surveying teams, oversee survey activities, mentoring junior surveyors, and ensuring quality control in survey operations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, developers, and other stakeholders to provide surveying support for project planning, design, and implementation.
  • Prepare and review survey notes, sketches, reports, plates, and maps documenting survey findings, methodologies, and conclusions.
  • Conduct research on property deeds, land records, historical survey data, and regulatory requirements to gather information relevant to survey projects.
  • Coordinate with property owners, clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals, permits, and access for survey activities.
  • Utilize specialized software and tools for processing survey data, creating maps, and generating survey reports with precision and accuracy.
  • Monitor and maintain survey equipment, tools, and supplies, coordinating maintenance, calibration, and repair as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulations, and ethical standards in surveying practices to promote a safe and professional work environment.


Professional Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional licensure as a Land Surveyor (PLS) is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying with expertise in conducting a variety of surveys and using advanced surveying equipment.5 years+ experience in electrical engineering roles, with demonstrated expertise in designing, developing, and testing complex electrical systems.


Skills & Competencies

  • Comprehensive knowledge of surveying techniques, methodologies, principles, and regulations governing land surveying practices.
  • Proficiency in using advanced surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS syst0ems, levels, drones, and CAD software for data processing.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in survey data interpretation.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with clients, stakeholders, team members, and external parties.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and professional integrity in surveying practices.
  • Familiar with property laws, legal descriptions, land records, and regulatory requirements relevant to surveying activities.
  • Proven proficiency in industry-specific software and tools for survey data processing, mapping, and reporting.
  • Professional certifications, advanced training, or memberships in relevant surveying associations are highly desirable.
