Job Summary:

  • The Junior Fashion Buyer will support the Buying team in the selection, development, and procurement of merchandise
  • This role involves analyzing trends, building strong relationships with vendors, and working closely with the design and merchandising teams to ensure the product selection aligns with the brand's image and sales objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Trend Analysis & Product Selection:

  • Assist in researching and identifying fashion trends, consumer preferences, and market demands.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Buyer to select and procure merchandise that reflects the brand's style and meets the target customer's needs.
  • Participate in buying trips and attend trade shows to select products.

Vendor Relations:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Assist in negotiating prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure that products meet quality standards.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the merchandising team to ensure timely replenishment of stock.
  • Assist in managing the product lifecycle, including planning markdowns, promotions, and discontinuations.

Sales & Performance Analysis:

  • Analyze sales data to assess the performance of products and make recommendations for future purchases.
  • Assist in preparing reports and presentations on product performance and market trends.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the design, merchandising, and marketing teams to ensure product selections align with the overall brand strategy.
  • Coordinate with the visual merchandising team to ensure products are displayed effectively in-store and online.

Administrative Support:

  • Handle purchase orders, invoices, and other administrative tasks related to the buying process.
  • Maintain accurate records of orders, deliveries, and inventory levels.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a buying or merchandising role, preferably in the fashion industry.
  • Strong understanding of fashion trends and the retail market.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
