JOB SUMMARY

An MBBS Degree with a postgraduate diploma in Sonology.5 years of practical knowledge and experience in ultrasound/sonology and related procedures.A registered member with the MDCN and other relevant professional bodies with a current practicing license.Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and sonography scanners & equipmentStrong analytical, judgment, and decision-making skills.Excellent technical, communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.Must understand and exhibit the highest ethical standards

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Medical Sonologist will be responsible for various Sonology imaging protocols and techniques to produce visual representations of specific areas of the human body to diagnose medical problems and monitor treatment across the various specialties in Medicine and Surgery we provide our services.ResponsibilitiesPatient Operation-Centered:Provide quality service for patients by ensuring that every patient is treated as an individual in terms of courtesy, kindness, efficiency, efficacy, and confidentiality.Ensure that examination orders presented are complete, contain all relevant information, and meet the standard of "medical necessity."Review examination images generated, synthesize examination results, and prepare the preliminary findings.Evaluate any contraindications, insufficient patient preparation, and the patient's inability or unwillingness to tolerate the examination and associated procedures.Ensure that the Sonology examination results generated meet standards for Quality Assurance before findings are released.Followstandard clinical protocols for resuscitation, bleeding, infection, or other emergencies, when necessary.Other duties assigned that are appropriate to the rolePersonal Operation-Centered:Maintain a high standard in the discharge of duties within the Medical/Radiology Services Unitwhile adhering to accepted professional and ethical standards at all times.Operate optimally the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System RISApply independent, professional, ethical judgment and critical thinking to safely perform diagnostic Sonology procedures.Ensure that the three principles of radiation protection, namely justification, optimization (ALARA) and dose constraints/limits are adhered to.Operate optimally the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System RISOther duties assigned that are appropriate to the role.Others:Assist with the daily operation of the sonography services within the facility.Assume responsibility for the preventive maintenance program for ultrasound equipment.Exercise responsibility for the maintenance and accuracy of facility reports, database records, and logs.Assist with the daily operation of the Sonology unit within the radiology facility.Exercise supervisory responsibility for the maintenance and accuracy of facility reports, database records, and logs.
