Position Description

  • Responsible for developing the overall strategy of all Capital Market transactions, including negotiations, client interaction, and managing documentation.
  • Provide financial advisory services to companies seeking to raise capital from the public through various options available in the Capital Market and those aiming to re-structure for profitability and corporate goal achievement.
  • Offer expertise and advice on various transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, buy-outs, and buy-ins.
  • Structure new deals, evaluate profitability and risks.
  • Coordinate research for Market Supervision and Market Development.
  • Conduct desk research on successful regulatory, licensing, surveillance/supervision, and market development practices of other emerging market regulators.
  • Manage data collection and analysis for research studies, surveys, and strategic plan reviews.
  • Prepare and present reports and presentations for research studies, surveys, and education/outreach campaigns.
  • Write research papers/articles on various facets of capital markets for journals, newspapers, and other print media.
  • Deliver presentations to various audiences, including investors, market intermediaries, policy makers, regulators, trade/professional associations, professional bodies, and issuers.
  • Prepare and oversee departmental budgets.

Core Duties

  • Supervise the preparation of financial models, develop, and present suitable financial solutions.
  • Critically evaluate a company's financial/operational positions and provide a realistic view before embarking on capital raising activities.
  • Perform valuation, pricing, and address regulatory aspects of any Capital Market transaction as required.
  • Prepare necessary documents for capital raising exercises like prospectuses, circulars, scheme documents, and more.
  • Engage with representatives of other professional entities to ensure coordination.
  • Market Capital Market transactions to potential clients through proposals, expressions of interest, or other required communication.
  • Stay updated on trends in the financial market and financial legislations.
  • Handle client complaints effectively.
  • Provide leadership and analytical support to the business.
  • Support research analyses in various departments and subsidiaries.
  • Ensure proper valuation, reporting, and communication of relevant schemes.
  • Monitor and manage the company's trading accounts.
  • Engage in market marking functions on behalf of the company.
  • Coordinate departmental team members.
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Managing Director.

Knowledge:

  • Proficient knowledge in areas such as budgeting, forecasting, internal/external reporting, shared services, finance transformation, business intelligence, investment banking, and capital market instruments.
  • Understanding of front, middle, or back office processes in major capital market participants.

Core Skills:

  • Proven success in developing strategy and utilizing PC applications for effective communication and presentations.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo using industry best practices for finance functions.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Identifying and addressing client needs, maintaining client relationships, managing resources, and preparing complex materials.
  • Experience in team leadership and providing feedback.

  • Excellent report writing, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility, ability to work independently or in a team, problem-solving skills, travel readiness, decision making, interpersonal, stress and time management skills, and computer literacy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, or Business Administration.
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience, preferably in research, quantitative analysis, or financial reporting.
  • Prior experience in the Capital Markets Industry is a plus.
  • Sound knowledge of financial services and Capital Markets operations.

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based role with occasional physical demands such as sitting, standing, and using office equipment.
  • Long hours may be required, involving lifting and managing computer equipment.
  • Environmental and sensory demands may vary, requiring excellent organizational skills.
  • Interactions with professionals and technical staff are expected.
