The Home Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of a residential home for homeless youngsters, providing a safe, nurturing, and structured environment. The candidate will act as a role model, mentor, and guide for the residents, ensuring their well-being and facilitating their transition toward independence through education, skills development, and emotional support.
Key Responsibilities:
Residential Care Management
Supervise Daily Activities: Organize and oversee the youngsters' daily routines, including meals, study time, recreational activities, and rest periods.
Provide Emotional Support: Actively listen to residents’ concerns, offer guidance, and provide emotional stability.
Foster a Safe Environment: Ensure the home is a safe, clean, and welcoming space for all residents.
Promote Personal Development: Encourage positive behavior, self-discipline, and life skills development among residents.
Administrative Duties
Maintain Records: Keep detailed records of residents' progress, incidents, and any interventions.
Budget Oversight: Manage household expenses, including food, supplies, and maintenance costs.
Compliance: Ensure the home operates within organizational policies and local regulations.
Team Collaboration
Liaise with Staff: Work closely with social workers, counsellors, and other staff to develop and implement care plans for each resident.
Coordinate Training: Organize vocational training, workshops, or educational activities in collaboration with external partners.
Crisis Management: Act as the first point of contact during emergencies, de-escalating situations when needed.
Community Engagement
Build Relationships: Foster positive relationships with residents’ families (where applicable) and the local community.
Promote Reintegration: Assist in reintegrating youngsters into their communities or transitioning them to independent living arrangement
