Head of Accounting

Our company is currently looking to hire Head of Accounting Department to join our team in FCT Abuja, Nigeria to manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to deposits and budgets.
Accountant responsibilities include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes.
JOB DESCRIPTION •
1. Oversee financial operations and ensure that accurate financial statements are produced in a timely manner.

2. Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

3. Prepare and oversee budgets and financial projections.

4. Ensure that the company’s financial records are organized and accurate.

5. Act as a financial advisor to senior management.

6. Oversee the preparation of accurate financial reports for senior management and external stakeholders.

7. Manage and develop the accounting team to ensure maximum efficiency.

8. Liaise with external auditors and other financial professionals.

9. Analyze financial data and develop strategies to increase profitability and reduce costs.

10. JOB ROLE -FULL TIME

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have professional qualifications (e.g. Bachelor's degree ) in Accounting with minimum of BSC second class or HND upper credit in Accounting. • 3+ years minimum experience in a similar role is required. A chartered Accountant will be an added advantage
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
• Experience with general ledger functions.
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
