As a key part of the management team, the HOD, Finance will have interactions with various members of a company, both senior and junior.

Duties and Responsibilities:

FINANCIAL STRATEGY AND PLANNING:
Providing leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team
Providing strategic recommendations to members of the executive management team
Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting
Advising on long-term business and financial planning
Establishing and developing relations with senior management and external partners and stakeholders
Reviewing all formal finance, HR and IT related procedures
Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's objectives, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.
Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team, assisting in decision-making and risk management processes.
Drive financial planning and forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis to support business operations and optimize resource allocation.

FINANCIAL REPORTING AND ANALYSIS
Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide actionable insights to the executive team.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.

CAPITAL MANAGEMENT AND INVESTMENT STRATEGY
Develop and implement capital allocation strategies, including debt and equity financing, to support business expansion and investment initiatives.
Evaluate investment opportunities, conduct financial due diligence, and provide recommendations on potential acquisitions, partnerships, or divestitures.
Optimize the company's capital structure, manage cash flow, and minimize financial risk exposure.

RISK MAMAGEMENT
Establish and monitor effective financial risk management policies and procedures.
Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, such as market volatility, foreign exchange exposure, credit risk, and operational risk.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain strong relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions.

TEAM LEADERSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT
Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
Provide guidance and support to finance staff in areas such as financial analysis, reporting, and strategic decision-making.
Foster effective cross-functional collaboration with other departments, promoting a cohesive and aligned approach to achieving business objectives.

REQUIREMENTS
Proven track record of developing and implementing financial strategies that drive growth and improve profitability.
Strong financial acumen and a deep understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory frameworks.
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and provide strategic insights and recommendations.
Experience in capital management, investment analysis, and M&A activities.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards achieving common goals.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
Sound knowledge of industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies impacting the telecommunications sector.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
ACA+ HND or BSc
- Minimum 2years managerial experience.
