JOB SUMMARY
The Gender and Peacebuilding Officer will be responsible for designing and implementing gender-sensitive peacebuilding initiatives in Sokoto State. The officer will work closely with stakeholders to ensure inclusivity and equity in all programs, promoting sustainable peace and gender equality at all levels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support the development of gender-sensitive peacebuilding project proposals and initiatives.
• Develop project-specific work plans, results frameworks, and indicators related to gender and peacebuilding.
• Conduct assessments on gender dynamics and peacebuilding needs in the community.
• Provide technical support for mainstreaming gender equality and social inclusion in all program activities.
• Facilitate workshops and build capacity for stakeholders on gender and peacebuilding.
• Collaborate with M&E staff to design and implement tools for monitoring program impact.
• Foster partnerships with local communities, civil society organizations, and government stakeholders.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies, Sociology, Gender Studies, International Development, or a related social science field.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in gender-focused and peacebuilding projects, preferably within an NGO setting.
• Strong understanding of gender dynamics, conflict resolution, and human rights frameworks.
• Proven skills in project management, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking abilities.
• Commitment to promoting gender equality and social justice in community development programs.
