Errand Runner and Cleaner

The Errand Runner and Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the play café and running errands to support day-to-day operations. This role ensures that the café provides a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for families and children.

Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning and Maintenance:
Regularly clean and sanitise the play area, dining space, restrooms, and kitchen.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors to maintain a tidy appearance.
Disinfect high-touch surfaces, including toys, tables, chairs, and equipment.
Dispose of trash and recycling properly and ensure bins are emptied frequently.

Errands and Supplies Management:
Run errands as directed, including purchasing supplies or restocking inventory.
Ensure the café is always stocked with essential items like cleaning products, paper goods, and other consumables.
Deliver or pick up items from local vendors when needed.

Safety and Hygiene Compliance:
Follow all health and safety guidelines, ensuring areas are cleaned to required standards.
Notify management of any maintenance issues or safety hazards.
Safely store cleaning supplies and ensure they are out of reach of children.

Support for Operations:
Assist with setting up and cleaning after events or parties.
Help with minor organisation tasks, such as arranging chairs or setting tables.
Support staff with ad hoc requests related to café upkeep.

Qualifications and Skills:
Education: No formal education required, but a high school diploma or equivalent is a plus.
Experience: Prior cleaning or maintenance experience is preferred but not required.

Skills:
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Attention to detail to ensure high standards of cleanliness.
Basic knowledge of cleaning tools and materials.

Friendly and approachable demeanour when interacting with customers and staff.
Physically fit to handle tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
