Job Description:
A hospital in Port Harcourt is looking to hire a Head of Nursing. The Head of Nursing will be responsible for overseeing the nursing department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and developing nursing policies and procedures.

key responsibilities:

1.⁠ ⁠Provide strategic direction and leadership to the nursing department.

2.⁠ ⁠⁠Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient nursing operations.

3.⁠ ⁠⁠Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of nursing staff.

4.⁠ ⁠⁠Ensure that patient care services are delivered in accordance with established standards and best practices.

5.⁠ ⁠⁠Monitor patient care quality and implement improvements as needed.

6.⁠ ⁠⁠Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to enhance patient care and outcomes.

7.⁠ ⁠⁠Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and standards.

8.⁠ ⁠⁠Oversee the preparation for and response to regulatory audits and inspections.

9.⁠ ⁠⁠Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in healthcare laws and regulations.

10.⁠ ⁠⁠Develop and manage the nursing department's budget.

11.⁠ ⁠⁠Monitor and control expenses to ensure cost-effective operations.

12.⁠ ⁠⁠Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising patient care quality.

13.⁠ ⁠⁠Lead initiatives to improve patient safety and quality of care.

14.⁠ ⁠⁠Analyze data related to patient outcomes and implement changes to enhance care delivery.

15.⁠ ⁠⁠Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the nursing staff.

16.⁠ ⁠⁠Work closely with other executive leaders to align nursing goals with organizational objectives.

17.⁠ ⁠⁠Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and other departments.

18.⁠ ⁠⁠Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and families.

19.⁠ ⁠⁠Promote ongoing professional development and education for nursing staff.

Requirements:

-RN/RM qualification

-Minimum of 8years of nursing experience, with at least 3years in a leadership/administrative capacity.

-Strong knowledge of nursing regulations and standards

-Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
