Job Summary:
The Security Guard at Akwa Ibom Transport Company (AKTC) is responsible for safeguarding company premises, assets, staff, and customers. The role includes monitoring security systems, controlling access points, patrolling assigned areas, and responding to security-related incidents. The ideal candidate must have strong observational skills, be able to handle emergencies professionally, and ensure a secure environment for smooth transport operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Access Control:
Manage and control entry and exit points of AKTC terminals, offices, and other premises.
Verify the identification of visitors, staff, and vendors to prevent unauthorized access.
Conduct security checks on vehicles entering or leaving the company premises.

2. Patrols and Inspections:
Regularly patrol assigned areas, including terminals, parking lots, and office buildings, to ensure security and safety.
Inspect buildings and equipment to identify any vulnerabilities or safety hazards and report findings to management.
Ensure that the premises are secure after working hours, including locking gates, doors, and windows.

3. Emergency Response:
Respond promptly to security breaches, fire alarms, medical emergencies, or any other incident requiring intervention.
Provide first aid assistance when necessary and guide emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) to the scene.
Assist in the evacuation of staff and passengers during emergencies, ensuring safety and order.

4. Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare detailed daily reports on security operations, including incidents, patrols, and any unusual activities.
Document and report security violations, theft, accidents, or any suspicious occurrences to the Security Supervisor.
Maintain accurate records of visitors, incidents, and any security-related events.

5. Enforcing Rules and Regulations:
Ensure that all company policies and procedures regarding security and safety are strictly followed by staff, visitors, and customers.
Take disciplinary action against anyone caught violating the company’s rules, in accordance with established security protocols.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Education:
Minimum of Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.

Experience:
Prior experience in security services, law enforcement, or a similar role is an advantage.
Military or paramilitary background is highly desirable.

Skills:
Strong observational and surveillance skills.
Ability to stay calm and respond effectively in high-pressure or emergency situations.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic first aid knowledge and ability to handle emergency situations.

Physical Requirements:
Physically fit and able to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.
Ability to lift heavy objects and handle physically demanding tasks as needed.

Working Conditions:
