Job Title: ICT Assistant
Location: Uyo Station (with remote support to other AKTC stations nationwide)
Department: Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
Reports To: Head of ICT

Job Description:
Akwa Ibom Transport Company (AKTC) is looking for an ICT Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will support our ICT department by performing various technical and administrative tasks. You will work with and report directly to the Head of ICT and will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all ICT-related functions within the company.

Key Responsibilities:
As the ICT Assistant, your duties will include any of these as directed by the Head ICT but are not limited to:

System Maintenance & Repairs:
Performing hardware repairs, including changing drives, motherboards, RAM, and adding processor paste.
General system maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance of computers and servers.

Printer Repair & Management:
Repairing printers and managing cartridges (replacement, refilling, and monitoring).
Ensuring printers are running effectively across all departments.

Network & Internet Support:
Cabling and configuring network systems.
Troubleshooting and resolving internet connectivity issues, including IP resolution and DNS problems.
Understanding and managing wireless networks and troubleshooting related issues.

Software Support:
Installation and management of software on systems.
Managing Tally Prime Software and ensuring it runs efficiently across the organization.
Supporting the Booking Application for the Transport Manager and assisting with user issues.

UPS Maintenance:
Replacing and maintaining UPS batteries to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

CCTV Management:
Assisting in CCTV system management, including providing playback support when requested.

Printer Consumables Management:
Monitoring and managing usage of printer supplies, such as A4 paper, thermal paper, etc., to ensure availability and proper use.

Additional Duties:
Carrying out any other ICT-related tasks assigned by the Head of ICT to support daily operations.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Education: A minimum of a Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:
At least 1-2 years of experience in IT support, system maintenance, or a similar role.
Hands-on experience with hardware repairs (drives, RAM, motherboards, etc.) and software installation.
Familiarity with Tally Prime and Booking Applications is an advantage.
Knowledge of networking, IP resolution, DNS, and wireless network troubleshooting.
Experience in printer repair and management.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.

Skills:
Pay attention to details and instructions from the Head of ICT
Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware and software issues.
Good and effective communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Other Requirements:
Willingness to learn new technologies and systems related to the transport business as you will be trained by the Head ICT.

Working Conditions:
Primary work location is Uyo Station.
Occasional remote support required for other AKTC stations across the country via phone calls in the form of directions if assigned by the Head ICT.
Working hours are based on the company’s operational needs, with possible calls for emergency support outside normal hours.
