Pastry Artisan

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Pastry Artisan to join our team at Chard Pharmacy and Stores. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and other items.

Key Responsibilities:

• Baking and Preparation: Prepare and bake a variety of goods, such as bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies, following established recipes and food safety guidelines.
• Ingredient Management: Measure and mix ingredients to create doughs, batters, and fillings, ensuring accurate quantities and quality control.
• Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain baking equipment, including ovens, mixers, and proofers, ensuring they are in good working condition and adhering to safety standards.
• Decorating and Presentation: Decorate cakes and pastries to meet customer specifications or design themes, demonstrating creativity and attention to detail.
• Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the team to restock ingredients, ensuring timely delivery of products to customers.
• Timely Delivery: Ensure that all baked goods are prepared on time for customer orders or display, meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards.
• Work Environment: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards, and promoting a positive work environment.
• Innovation and Improvement: Experiment with new recipes and techniques to create unique baked items, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the team to meet production goals and customer demands, communicating effectively and contributing to a positive team dynamic.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Experience: Proven experience as a baker or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of baking techniques, tools, and food safety practices.
• Creativity and Attention to Detail: Creativity and a keen eye for detail in decorating and presentation, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Organizational and Time-Management Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Physical Demands: Physical stamina to stand for long hours and handle heavy equipment or materials, with the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues, customers, and management.

Compensation and Benefits: The estimated salary for this position is $45,000-$60,000 per year, depending on experience, with opportunities for growth and professional development.
