**Job Description:**

  • We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join our team at MeritAbode Nigeria Limited. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely counsel to executives in various legal topics.

Our ideal candidate will have 4-8 years of experience as a Legal/Compliance Officer, with litigation experience. You will work closely with management to devise efficient defense strategies, specify internal governance policies, and research risk factors regarding business decisions and operations.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Collaborating with management to devise efficient defense strategies
  • Specifying internal governance policies
  • Researching and evaluating different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations
  • Applying effective risk management techniques and offering proactive advice on possible legal issues
  • Communicating and negotiating with external parties, creating relations of trust
  • Drafting and solidifying agreements, contracts, and other legal documents to ensure the company's full legal rights
  • Dealing with complex matters involving multiple stakeholders and forces
  • Providing clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization
  • Maintaining current knowledge of alterations in legislation

Requirements:

  • 4-8 years of experience as a Legal/Compliance Officer, with litigation experience
