In-House Counsel

About the Role

Dapo Opeaye and Co is seeking an experienced Legal Associate to join our team. As a key member of our in-house counsel, you will play a vital role in handling litigation issues, company secretarial work, and other legal responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Litigation Support: Assist in the preparation and management of court cases, including research, drafting pleadings, and coordinating with external counsel.
• Company Secretarial Work: Provide support for company meetings, resolutions, and regulatory submissions, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Post-Call Experience: You must have at least 1-2 years of post-call experience in a similar role.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities are essential for success in this role.
• Autonomy: You must be capable of working with limited supervision and making decisions independently.
• Research Capabilities: Robust research skills are necessary for identifying and resolving complex legal issues.
• Court Procedures: Familiarity with court procedures is crucial for navigating the legal system effectively.
• Meeting Management: Craft agendas for Board and General Meetings and document minutes accurately.
• Regulatory Compliance: Manage the submission of company resolutions to regulatory authorities.
• Location: Preference is given to candidates residing on Lagos Island.

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary of NGN5,500,000 per annum, reflecting your experience and qualifications.
