Deputy Manager Research and Literacy Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Manager Research/Literacy to join our team at The Bible Society of Nigeria. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading research initiatives and developing literacy programs that promote the Bible and its relevance among youths in Nigeria.

• Conduct research into the versions, formats, and presentation of scriptures needed by our market audience.
• Carry out research into BSN's various operations and activities, including translation, distribution, staff-related matters, and the versions and formats of scriptures needed by our market audience.
• Conduct regular scripture price, customer satisfaction, market intelligence surveys within Lagos metropolis monthly and outside Lagos at pre-scheduled times.
• Facilitate effective literacy activities, language primer construction, and other related tasks.
• Identify and anticipate consumer needs through well-researched investigations.
• Conduct regular market intelligence surveys that could inform BSN's product price mechanism strategy.
• Major/specialized research into competitors' activities and input on BSN's activities half-yearly.
• Ensure the initiation, development, and implementation of relevant programs that will make people interact with the Word of God.
• Manage projects/programs initiated by BSN in achieving its mission and business mandate.
• Supervise the initiation, submission, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of all projects on Solomon from time to time.
• Ensure every necessary report is submitted for allocated grants to be timely claimed on Solomon.
• Ensure relevant workshops and seminars are organized for Area Officers and youth leaders of Churches and Para-Church organizations in collaboration with the CPRD and BSN Consult.
• Ensure a productive working relationship with Christian and secular youth organizations to make the Bible relevant among youths in Nigeria.

• Minimum of 5-7 years of cognate experience in related fields involving social research work and analysis, literacy activities, and programs.
• A Higher National Diploma or first degree in the humanities, especially in Business Administration, Sociology, Psychology, Statistics, or any other related field.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organization, presentation, social, and report writing skills with the ability to adjust to changing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrate competence in a variety of social statistical tools, such as SPSS, other data analysis tools, and other computer applications.
• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately and with discretion.
• Demonstrate ability to analyze and synthesize data from a wide variety of sources and present the resulting information in a clear summary.
• Must be analytical, innovative, with a creative mind at developing strategies to make BSN's program and projects more impact-driven.
• Ability to constantly supervise timely response to national emergency issues, development of relevant projects as quickly as possible to meet the needs of society and people.
• Needs assessment and impact assessment and application skills; project writing, reporting, and program development skills.
• Good self-application, selfless, kind, and considerate, assertive, and an excellent team player.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
