Job Description

About DAYTONA:

 

In this role, you will be responsible for transporting finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers. This is a dynamic and challenging position that requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Transportation Management: Plan routes and meet delivery schedules while ensuring the safe transportation of goods.
  2. Vehicle Maintenance: Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform preventative maintenance to ensure they are in good working condition.
  3. Delivery Coordination: Collect and verify delivery instructions, and report any defects, accidents, or violations.
  4. Logistics and Administration: Document and log work/rest periods, kilometres spent driving, and retain fuel/toll receipts.

 

Requirements:

  • Licenses and Certifications: Must hold a valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
  • Experience and Skills: At least 2 years of experience in heavy goods haulage, with excellent knowledge of transportation regulations and safety protocols.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy objects, work in a fast-paced environment, and spend long periods behind the wheel.
