Job Summary

The Housekeeping Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at Jenniez School of African Interior Design. This includes daily cleaning and sanitization of classrooms, restrooms, common areas, and offices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Daily Cleaning: Ensure cleanliness of classrooms, offices, hallways, and other areas by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
  • Restroom Maintenance: Regularly clean and sanitize restrooms, restocking supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.
  • Waste Management: Empty and dispose of trash and recycling in designated areas.
  • Surface Sanitization: Regularly disinfect high-touch areas, including doorknobs, handrails, and light switches.
  • Event Support: Assist in setting up and cleaning after events, meetings, and other school functions as needed.
  • Supply Inventory: Monitor cleaning supplies and report inventory needs to the Facility Officer for timely replenishment.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Prior experience in cleaning or janitorial roles is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
    • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safe handling practices.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards.
  • Physical Demands: Physical stamina and ability to perform manual tasks are essential.
  • Reliability and Punctuality: Good communication skills are required to report issues or maintenance needs.
Benefits and Compensation:

We offer a competitive salary of $40,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
