Job Description

The Visual Arts Instructor is responsible for developing and delivering engaging visual arts programs for participants of various ages and skill levels. This role involves planning, organizing, and facilitating art-making activities, as well as managing resources and communicating with participants and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Development:
    • Design and develop visually appealing and engaging art-making activities.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement program activities.
  • Session Delivery:
    • Deliver engaging visual arts sessions, providing clear instructions and demonstrations.
    • Encourage participant engagement, creativity, and self-expression.
  • Resource Management:
    • Manage the organization and storage of art supplies and equipment.
    • Ensure all tools and materials are used safely and responsibly.
  • Communication:
    • Communicate effectively with participants, providing guidance and encouragement.
    • Promote upcoming sessions and events through various channels.
    Requirements:
    • Proven experience in visual arts instruction or a related field.
    • Strong artistic skills across various mediums and techniques.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Ability to work with diverse groups and adapt activities to meet varying needs.
    • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Knowledge of health and safety standards related to art materials and activities.
    • Relevant certifications or qualifications in art, education, or a related discipline are advantageous.
