Child Advocate Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Child Advocate Specialist to join our team at Child Life-Line.

The successful candidate will work closely with street-connected children, providing social support and advocacy services. Key responsibilities include assessing children's needs, developing intervention plans, and collaborating with child development coordinators to achieve goals related to mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence, poverty, and other social issues.

Additionally, this role involves maintaining accurate documentation of all interactions and progress, conducting outreach to street children, building trust, and identifying those who require immediate assistance. The specialist will also conduct home tracing, family reunification, and reintegration efforts, as well as establish family contact and empower children's families.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting family mediation sessions to resolve conflicts and promote harmonious relationships.

To be successful in this role, you will require strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and their families. A background in social work or a related field is essential, with experience working with vulnerable populations.

You must possess excellent assessment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop effective intervention plans. Strong documentation and record-keeping skills are also required.

This is a competitive full-time position offering a salary of $65,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on experience.
