Job Description

We are seeking a qualified General Counsel to join our team at MeritAbode Nigeria Limited. The successful candidate will provide expert legal counsel and support to our executives and management, ensuring the company's full legal rights and compliance with all relevant laws.

Main Duties

• Provide timely and accurate counsel to executives on various legal topics.">
• Collaborate with management to devise defense strategies and specify internal governance policies.">
• Conduct research and evaluations on risk factors related to business decisions and operations.">
• Apply effective risk management techniques and advise on possible legal issues.">
• Negotiate with external parties to create trust.">
• Draft and solidify agreements, contracts, and other legal documents.">
• Deal with complex matters involving multiple stakeholders and forces.">
• Clarify legal language or specifications within the organization.">
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative changes.">

Key Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have 4-8 years of experience as a Legal/Compliance Officer, with litigation experience.
