At Mecer Consulting Limited, we are seeking a skilled Loan Monitoring/Recovery Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in credit risk management and loan recovery.

Job Description

We are looking for a seasoned professional with expertise in:

  • Credit Risk Assessment: Identify high-risk accounts and develop action plans for recovery.
  • Loan Recovery Strategies: Implement negotiations, restructuring, and legal actions where necessary.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure compliance with lending policies and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Tracking loan disbursements and ensuring funds are used for the intended purpose.
  • Regularly reviewing loan performance and identifying early warning signals of potential defaults.
  • Conducting periodic site visits and client meetings to assess financial health and repayment ability.

Requirements:

  • At least 2-5 years of experience in loan monitoring, credit risk management, or debt recovery, preferably in a financial institution, microfinance bank, or commercial bank.
  • A BS.C/HND in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Banking, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., CIBN, ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage.
  • Strong ability to negotiate loan repayment terms with clients.
  • Familiarity with lending laws, CBN regulations, and debt recovery procedures.
  • Ability to engage with clients professionally and maintain good relationships.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with documentation standards.
