About the Role

Cwiak is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Reporting Manager to provide timely, accurate, and reliable financial information that supports effective decision-making and ensures compliance with internal and external financial standards.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Ensure adherence to month-end book closing procedures and deadlines.
  • Maintain and reconcile the General Ledger with full responsibility for its integrity.
  • Prepare financial reports, budgets, and prepayment schedules.
  • Maintain and reconcile accounts payable and fixed assets register.
  • Handle all taxation matters, statutory, and internal audits.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of all financial data.
  • Monitor and track OPEX and CAPEX to ensure expenditures are within budget.

Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, Local GAAP, and relevant statutory regulations.
  • Guarantee that invoices are accrued before payment by the Treasury Unit.
  • Provide monthly ageing analysis and advise management on critical payments.

Operational Oversight

  • Supervise Outstation Account Officers.
  • Coordinate regular stock taking and inventory reconciliation.
  • Conduct quarterly stock counts and ensure data accuracy on Orion ERP.
  • Verify that all invoices and purchase orders are in agreement.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong command of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS, Local GAAP, and double-entry accounting principles.
  • Proven experience in statutory reporting, tax management, and financial control.
  • High attention to detail and zero tolerance for posting or narration errors on Orion.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks and month-end closures within deadlines.

Non-Technical Competencies

  • Demonstrated ability to contribute meaningfully in meetings (at least 2+ productive inputs per meeting).
  • Professional demeanor with zero tolerance for conflicts or unprofessional conduct.
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and commitment to responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial reporting or a similar role.

Reporting Line

Reports directly to the Finance Manager.
