Why This Role Matters

As Director of Finance & Fundraising, you will design and lead the company's financial foundation and capital strategy. You will play a strategic role in shaping sustainable growth, investor readiness, and financial operations, with a clear pathway to senior finance leadership as we scale.

Key Responsibilities

Capital Strategy & Fundraising

• Lead the fundraising roadmap, managing investor outreach and relations.
• Develop investor-facing financial models and materials that clearly communicate business traction and growth levers.
• Own dataroom readiness and due diligence processes.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

• Build integrated revenue, cost, capex, and cash flow forecasts with scenario planning.
• Create dashboards for burn rate, runway, and KPIs; automate monthly reporting.

Accounting, Controls & Governance

• Establish compliant bookkeeping, internal controls, and finance policies.
• Coordinate audits, tax filings, and statutory registrations with external advisors.

Operational Finance

• Oversee invoicing, vendor payments, payroll frameworks, and expense controls.
• Define cost centers and partner budgets in collaboration with Product, Operations, and Marketing teams.

Investor & Stakeholder Reporting

• Prepare investor updates, board finance packs, variance analyses, and recommend corrective actions.

Strategic Finance & Partnerships

• Evaluate partnership economics and structure revenue-share or SLA terms.
• Advise on pricing, monetization, and margin pathways.

Success Metrics (First 3 - 6 Months)

• Secure legally executed investor commitments meeting agreed fundraising targets.
• Maintain forecast accuracy within 10% variance against actuals.
• Deliver audit-ready financial books and monthly finance packs on schedule.
• Provide financial models and commercial recommendations for key partnership opportunities.

Time Commitment & Role Type

• This is a senior leadership role with flexible engagement terms, designed to balance strategic impact with operational execution.
• The role offers a clear pathway to full-time leadership with salary and benefits upon meeting agreed fundraising milestones.

Compensation

• Competitive retainer commensurate with experience and market benchmarks.
• Potential equity grant aligned with company growth and performance milestones (details to be discussed and agreed).
• Success fees or milestone bonuses may be considered based on fundraising achievements.
• Full-time salary and benefits package to be negotiated upon transition to permanent role.

Who You Are

• 7+ years of experience in finance, FP&A, investment, or fundraising roles, preferably with startups or high-growth ventures.
• Proven success raising capital and managing investor relations.
• Strong financial modeling, scenario planning, and storytelling skills.
• Hands-on experience setting up finance systems, controls, and leading small teams.
• Familiarity with Nigerian/African regulatory and accounting standards (IFRS, CAC, FIRS) is a plus.
• Comfortable working remotely and in resource-constrained environments.
• Passionate about women's health and mission-driven impact.
