Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Software Engineer based in Lagos, Nigeria. The role involves a combination of in-office work and remote work. The Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions. Key day-to-day tasks include coding, debugging, and deploying applications, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success. The candidate will also be responsible for code reviews and ensuring adherence to best practices in software development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for Rova's mobile app using
    Appium
    .
  • Integrate automation scripts into
    CI/CD pipelines
    (GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or Jenkins).
  • Create and maintain reusable test data, mocks, and environments.
  • Build regression coverage for core journeys — onboarding, KYC, remittance, vault funding, and transfers.
  • Collaborate with developers to define testable requirements and improve testability of code.
  • Track, document, and analyze test results to ensure high reliability pre-release.
  • Mentor manual QA testers transitioning to automation.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Computer Science fundamentals
  • Experience in Back-End Java Track
  • Spring Boot framework, MongoDB, Postgres
  • AWS kubernetes
  • Strong Programming skills and familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills
  • Strong collaborative skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Experience in the financial technology sector is a plus
  • Ability to work in a hybrid work environment
