Planning & Design Lead – Automated Industrial Railway System (Port Operations)

We are looking for a
highly experienced Planning & Design Lead
to drive the development of an
automated industrial rail network
connecting our production plants to the port container yard. This is a strategic role at the intersection of
civil engineering, system automation, and logistics planning
, focused on designing a
state-of-the-art, continuous-operation cargo handling system
.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the
    planning, design, and development
    of railway infrastructure for
    containerized cargo (20ft/40ft) and breakbulk goods (billets, ingots, finished products)
    .
  • Design an
    automated, minimal-manual-intervention rail transport system
    , ensuring
    continuous and efficient operations
    from plant to port.
  • Combine
    civil and system automation engineering expertise
    with strategic project planning from
    conceptualization to completion
    .
  • Ensure
    safety, efficiency, and compliance
    with national and international industrial standards and regulations.
  • Prepare
    detailed design calculations, engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and proposals
    using
    AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D
    , and other industry-standard tools.
  • Collaborate with
    multidisciplinary teams
    —civil, electrical, mechanical engineers, project managers, and contractors—to ensure seamless project execution and
    systems integration
    .
  • Participate in
    testing and commissioning
    phases to validate operational requirements and design specifications.
  • Conduct
    risk assessments
    and develop
    mitigation strategies
    to ensure robust and compliant railway operations.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 15+ years
    in
    planning, design, and execution
    of industrial rail networks for containerized cargo transportation.
  • Deep understanding of
    railway control systems
    (points, crossings, blocks, switches).
  • Proficient in
    engineering design software
    (AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D).
  • Bachelor's in
    Civil or Mechanical Engineering
    , with a Master's in
    Transportation Engineering
    .
  • Proven ability to lead
    complex, large-scale industrial transport projects
    with a focus on automation and efficiency.
