We provide modules for CRM, Projects, HR, and Inventory, but now we are embarking on our most critical build: a comprehensive, compliant, and powerful accounting engine.We are the "Shepherd" for these businesses—intelligent, empathetic, and authoritative—guiding them to a future of structure and growth. We are looking for a key individual to be the architect of that financial future within our product.The Opportunity: Why This Role ExistsWe have successfully built the tools to help businessesmanagetheir operations. Now, we are building the non-negotiable "system of record" they need to scale: a true, double-entry accounting core.Our customers are asking for in-depth, compliant financial tools—P&L, Balance Sheets, Chart of Accounts, and localized tax reporting. We are looking to compete directly with global giants like QuickBooks and Sage by offering a world-class system built specifically for the realities of the Nigerian market.This isnot onlyan internal accounting or bookkeeping role. We are hiring a subject matter expert to be the "accounting brain" of our product. You will be the architect responsible fordesigningthe entire financial engine that thousands of businesses will run on.Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Financial Product Specialist, you will be the bridge between complex accounting principles and our engineering team. Your mission is to design the logic, compliance, and reporting framework of our entire finance module.> General Ledger (GL) & Chart of Accounts (CoA) Architecture:Design the complete architecture for our double-entry bookkeeping system.Map the debit/credit logic for every transaction in the 390 ecosystem (e.g., invoice paid, expense approved, asset purchased, inventory adjusted).Create the default, localized Chart of Accounts (IFRS-compliant) that our users will receive out-of-the-box, ensuring it is flexible enough for customization. Financial Reporting Design:Define the exact formulas, logic, and GL account mappings for the "Big Three" financial reports: Profit & Loss (Income Statement), Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows.Design the Trial Balance report and other critical management reports. Compliance & Localization:Serve as the resident expert on Nigerian tax laws (VAT, WHT, CIT) and financial reporting standards (IFRS for SMEs).Design the system logic for accurate tax calculation, recording, and reporting to ensure all modules are 100% FIRS-compliant.> Product Specification & Documentation:Translate all accounting logic into crystal-clear functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for the engineering team.You will not write code, but you will be the "internal customer" defining what "correct" looks like.> Quality Assurance & UAT:Lead the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for all new accounting features. You will be the final sign-off, responsible for confirming that the numbers are accounting-sound and the trial balance balances .Who You Are: QualificationsWe are looking for a unique blend of a certified accountant and a systems-thinker.Non-Negotiable:Chartered Accountant: You must be a Chartered Accountant (ICAN or ACCA).Deep Systems Expertise: You are a "power user" of accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage 50, Zoho Books, etc.). Your instinct isn't just to use them, but to deconstruct them. The ideal candidate has strong opinions on how these tools fail and how they could be built better.A "Systems-Thinking" Brain: You think in flowcharts, data models, and "if-then" logic. You can take a complex process (like multi-currency invoicing) and break it down into its fundamental steps and data requirements.Expert in Nigerian Accounting: Deep, practical knowledge of IFRS, local tax laws (VAT, WHT), and the financial reporting realities for SMEs in Nigeria.Exceptional Communicator: You can clearly and patiently explain complex accounting principles (like "accruals" or "deferred revenue") to a technical-minded engineering team.Bonus Points (Strongly Preferred):Experience working in a SaaS, FinTech, or ERP company.Prior experience as an implementation consultant —someone who has helped multiple businesses set up and migrate to a new accounting system.Familiarity with product management methodologies (Agile, user stories, etc.).Why You'll Love Working at 390Build from Zero: This is a "greenfield" opportunity.
