About the Role

Our client, a leading player in the agricultural seed production and processing industry is seeking an experienced Head of Supply Chain to lead and oversee the end-to-end supply chain operations including production, processing, logistics, warehousing, and security management.The ideal candidate will ensure that all operations deliver the planned production volume *safely, on time, in full (OTIF), and within budgeted COGS and quality standards. The role primarily focuses on **maize* and secondary crops such as *rice, cowpeas, and sorghum

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the development and execution of seed production strategies in line with business goals and GPS plans.

* Oversee production, contracting, planting, and delivery to ensure OTIF performance.

* Manage the parent seed program to minimize shortages and optimize yield outcomes.

* Supervise seed processing operations, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with internal and NASC standards.

* Coordinate logistics, warehousing, imports, and exports to achieve timely and cost-effective delivery.

* Implement a robust SHE&S (Safety, Health, Environment & Security) framework across all operational sites.

* Establish and manage a Seed Production Research (SPR) unit focused on improving productivity and planting efficiency.

* Develop and manage departmental budgets while driving continuous process improvement and cost optimization.

* Build and mentor a high-performing supply chain team with a strong safety and performance culture.

* Align all local operations with the GPS 10-Year Strategic Plan and the Group's central supply chain objectives.

Requirements

* BSc in Crop Science or Agricultural Management (MSc or MBA is an added advantage).

* Minimum of 8 years' experience in the seed production or agribusiness sector, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role

* Proven experience in managing large-scale agricultural production, processing, and logistics operations.

* Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

* Solid understanding of supply chain systems, regulatory compliance, and financial management.
