Victory Empowerment Centre (VEC) is a micro-finance Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) dedicated to improving the lives of poor women through innovative and flexible micro-finance services. Based on international best practices, VEC adapts methodologies from Grooming People for Better Livelihood in Nigeria and ASA International Bangladesh to local market conditions. VEC offers small, repayable business loans and supports poverty-reduction strategies to make a significant impact. The organization utilizes a group lending methodology to ensure sustainable growth and facilitate easy access and optimal loan utilization for its members.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Branch Manager/Field Officer located in Abeokuta. The Branch Manager/Field Officer will oversee daily branch operations, manage loan disbursement, and recovery activities. Responsibilities include forming and maintaining groups based on VEC's methodology, conducting field visits, ensuring timely repayments, and providing support and guidance to clients. Additionally, the role involves maintaining records, preparing reports, and collaborating with team members to achieve organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Experience in micro-finance operations, loan disbursement, and recovery
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and other basic computer applications
  • Ability to perform field visits and work effectively in a team
  • Fluency in English and local languages beneficial
  • Understanding of the socio-economic environment in Abeokuta and surrounding areas
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
