Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Draftsman with 1–2 years of experience to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and revising technical drawings, architectural layouts, and manufacturing schematics for CNG and LNG facilities across Nigeria. This role requires proficiency in CADD systems, a solid understanding of engineering principles, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Drawing & Design

  • Create technical drawings, architectural plans, and manufacturing schematics based on specifications and engineering calculations.
  • Prepare both rough sketches and detailed designs using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software.
  • Revise drawings and layouts to reflect changes, enhancements, or feedback from engineers and architects.

Engineering Calculations

  • Perform basic calculations related to materials, weight limitations, and structural integrity.
  • Ensure designs accommodate safety procedures and installation requirements.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with architects, civil and mechanical engineers, construction and project management teams to incorporate technical knowledge into drawings.
  • Participate in design reviews and redrafting sessions with the technical team.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure final designs comply with Nigerian building codes, oil and gas safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Identify potential design issues and communicate them to the team with suggested remedial measures.
  • Review engineering drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to specifications.

Continuous Learning

  • Stay updated with emerging drafting technologies, software tools, and industry trends.
  • Apply new knowledge to improve drawing quality and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • HND or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in drafting or technical drawing, preferably in the oil and gas or energy sector.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, ProtaStructure or other CADD software.
  • Familiarity with CNG and LNG infrastructure is an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong attention to detail and spatial awareness.
  • Ability to interpret and translate engineering specifications into accurate drawings.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of Nigerian building regulations and oil & gas safety standards.
  • Time management and ability to meet project deadlines.
