Overview:

Inuka is working with a renewable energy company to bring on a General Manager – Finance in Abuja. This role will act as the strategic financial leader for Nigeria operations, partnering with the Country Director and senior leadership to drive financial planning, business performance, compliance, and operational excellence. The GM will oversee budgeting, forecasting, reporting, treasury, and internal controls while leading a high-performing finance team to support sustainable growth and profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial strategy, annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term planning.
  • Oversee accounting, IFRS reporting, tax, treasury, and cash-flow management.
  • Strengthen internal controls, governance, and compliance with Nigerian regulatory requirements.
  • Provide strategic financial insights to support investments, pricing, procurement, and project delivery.
  • Improve financial systems, tools, dashboards, and KPIs for data-driven decision-making.
  • Monitor liquidity, working capital, and overall business performance.
  • Manage external relationships with auditors, banks, regulators, and tax authorities.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, building capability and promoting accountability.

Qualifications:

  • 6-8 years of proven senior finance leadership experience, ideally within energy, infrastructure, or related sectors.
  • Experience with managing CAPEX deployment for infrastructure/construction in rural/peri-urban areas.
  • Strong skills in financial planning, IFRS reporting, budgeting, treasury, and risk management.
  • Experience with financial systems optimisation and performance analytics.
  • Solid understanding of Nigerian tax, statutory, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
