Job Title: Head of Technology – Software Division

Location: Lekki, Lagos (Hybrid Work Mode)

Experience Level: Minimum of 10 years

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Technology to lead a Software Division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the software technology vision, leading high-performing engineering teams, and delivering scalable, secure, and innovative software solutions. This role combines technical leadership with strategic execution and offers a hybrid work model for flexibility and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the software technology roadmap in alignment with business objectives.

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, high-performance, and cloud-based software systems.

  • Oversee software engineering, architecture, DevOps, QA, and technical operations teams.

  • Champion the use of best practices in software development, including Agile, Scrum, CI/CD, and DevOps methodologies.

  • Build and manage a world-class technology team through recruitment, mentorship, and continuous development.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Operations, and Executive teams to deliver customer-centric solutions.

  • Manage technology budgets, project timelines, and vendor relationships.

Stay current with emerging technologies and ensure continuous innovation and improvement.

  • Ensure security, data privacy, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Technical Expertise Required:

  • Programming Languages & Frameworks:

  • Strong command of Java,

  • Frontend and mobile frameworks including Angular, Ionic

  • Proficiency with PostgreSQL and other modern relational databases

  • Expertise in architecting and scaling large, high-performance systems

  • Strong experience with cloud-based applications and microservices architecture

  • Proficiency in Agile, Scrum, and DevOps practices

-Experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and related tools

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (BSc) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

  • Master's degree or MBA is an added advantage

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in software engineering and technology leadership

  • Proven track record in managing software teams and delivering complex software systems

  • Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and project management capabilities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
