Role Summary

News Central TV is seeking a Manager, Commercial & Revenue to lead the

commercial arm of the Commercial & Communications Department. This role is

responsible for driving revenue growth, meeting financial targets, and overseeing

commercial operations, including sales, marketing, business development, and

strategic partnerships. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in media

sales, business development, and revenue generation, with the ability to develop

and execute high-impact commercial strategies that align with News Central TV's

market positioning and growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Generation & Financial Growth

∙Develop and implement strategic revenue plans to meet and exceed

financial targets through sales from government (ministries, parastatals, state

houses) and corporates.

∙Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, sponsorships, and

advertising deals.

∙Lead pricing strategy, sales forecasting, and revenue projections to maximize

profitability.

∙Drive client acquisition, retention, and growth through effective sales and

marketing strategies.

Leadership & Team Management

∙Lead the Sales & Marketing team in Abuja, providing leadership, guidance,

and performance oversight.

∙Work closely with the Business Development & Partnerships unit in a dotted-

line capacity to drive cross-functional commercial strategies.

∙Foster a high-performance culture within the commercial team, ensuring

targets are met and exceeded.

∙Provide coaching, training, and mentorship to enhance team capabilities.

Commercial Strategy & Market Positioning

∙Develop and execute multi-channel sales strategies for TV, digital, and

sponsorship opportunities.

∙Drive brand positioning and commercial storytelling to enhance News Central

TV's appeal to advertisers, sponsors, and partners.

∙Analyze market trends, audience insights, and competitive landscape to

inform revenue strategies.

∙Lead negotiations for advertising deals, brand partnerships, and commercial

agreements.

Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Collaboration

∙Work closely with the Director, Commercial & Communications, to align

commercial goals with overall business objectives.

∙Collaborate with editorial, production, and digital teams to create compelling

commercial opportunities.

∙Build and maintain strong relationships with advertisers, sponsors, media

buyers, and corporate partners.

∙Represent News Central TV at industry events, client meetings, and networking

forums.

Person Specification

∙Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in media sales, business development, or

commercial leadership, preferably in broadcasting, digital media, or

advertising.

∙Proven track record in revenue generation, sales leadership, and hitting

financial targets.

∙Strong network of advertisers from government, media agencies, and

corporate partners.

∙Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

∙Ability to lead, inspire, and drive high-performance teams.

∙Strong analytical mindset with experience in sales forecasting, budgeting, and

data-driven decision-making.

∙Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and capitalize on commercial

opportunities.

∙Familiarity with media sales platforms, audience measurement tools, and

digital advertising trends.
