Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Lagos State, Nigeria, for a Principal Exploration Geoscientist. The role involves leading geological and geophysical evaluations of exploration opportunities, developing and optimizing exploration strategies, and providing technical guidance to multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities also include generating and interpreting 2D and 3D seismic data, creating geological models, and identifying prospects for hydrocarbon exploration and development. The Principal Exploration Geoscientist will actively support decision-making in exploration activities and provide mentoring to junior staff.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in seismic interpretation, 2D and 3D data analysis, and creation of geological models
  • Strong expertise in prospect generation, reservoir characterization, and petrophysical analysis
  • Experience in exploration strategy development and conducting risk assessments for hydrocarbon projects
  • Proven leadership experience and ability to mentor junior geoscientists effectively
  • Proficiency in industry-standard geological and geophysical software
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills to work in interdisciplinary teams
  • Master's or PhD in Geoscience, Geology, or a related field with significant experience in exploration and production
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry within the African context is an added advantage
