JOB DESCRIPTION: FINANCE MANAGER

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Employment Type: Full-Time

Department: Finance

Role Overview

The Finance Manager will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of a fast-growing digital credit and financial services organisation. This role involves managing accounting, budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis to ensure the business remains financially sound, compliant, and well-positioned for growth. The Finance Manager will report directly to the CFO and work closely with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Reporting & Compliance


• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.


• Ensure compliance with IFRS, local statutory requirements, and internal policies.


• Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors and regulators.

  1. Budgeting & Forecasting


• Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts aligned with strategic objectives.


• Monitor actual performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.


• Provide actionable financial insights to management for decision-making.

  1. Cashflow & Treasury Management


• Monitor cash flow, bank reconciliations, and short-term funding requirements.


• Ensure efficient management of working capital, collections, and payables.


• Support treasury functions and financial planning initiatives.

  1. Financial Analysis & Business Support


• Analyse business performance and provide financial recommendations.


• Support pricing, product, and project evaluations with robust financial modelling.


• Collaborate with other departments to optimise operational efficiency and cost management.

  1. Team Leadership & Development


• Supervise finance team members, ensuring accurate work and timely deliverables.


• Provide mentoring and guidance to develop finance capabilities within the team.


• Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Education & Experience


• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline.


• Professional qualification required (ICAN, ACCA, CPA, CFA).


• Minimum 5–8 years experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial position.


• Experience in fintech, banking, digital lending, or financial services preferred.

Skills & Competencies


• Strong financial reporting, accounting, and analytical skills.


• Excellent knowledge of financial systems and ERP tools.


• Good understanding of regulatory requirements in finance.


• Strong organisational and time management skills.


• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
