Our client is a leading Nigerian upstream oil and gas services enterprise, providing industrial, engineering, and project management solutions across multiple business units. The organization is known for delivering operational excellence, managing complex capital projects, and driving performance improvements across multi-site and multi-unit operations in the energy sector.

Job Purpose

The Chief of Staff serves as the CEO's strategic and operational partner, managing priorities, enabling decision-making, and ensuring disciplined follow-through on all key initiatives. The role requires a highly analytical, structured, and discreet professional who can navigate complex issues, influence senior stakeholders, and maintain absolute confidentiality while driving results with assertiveness and confidence in challenging stakeholder interactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor execution of the CEO's strategic priorities and directives.
• Manage information flow, communication, and action tracking across business units.
• Prepare high-quality briefs, reports, and presentations for board, government, and partner engagements.
• Conduct business research and provide analytical insights to support decision-making.
• Anticipate operational needs and proactively recommend solutions.
• Maintain strong working relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure the CEO's office operates efficiently, with clarity and accountability.

Profile Requirements

1. Experience:

• 10–12 years in strategy, management consulting, corporate planning, or comparable senior operational roles; experience working directly with board-level executives required.
• Experience in services-focused sectors (non–E&P) is strongly preferred.
• Exposure to international best practices and local operational realities, with familiarity with local commercial practices and stakeholder dynamics in Nigeria.
• Proven ability to operate effectively in complex, multi-unit corporate environments and navigate high-pressure situations while maintaining professionalism and integrity.

2. Education:

• Graduate degree required; MBA or master's in a related field preferred.

3. Technical Skills:

• Advanced Excel and presentation design capability.
• Familiarity with project-management tools considered an advantage.

4. Personal Attributes:

• Composed, assertive, and tactically sound — capable of managing up, across, and down.
• Quick thinker with strong situational awareness and emotional intelligence.
• Highly organized, disciplined, and dependable; anticipates rather than reacts.
