Finance Manager

The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the financial functions of the organization, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning. The GM will work closely with senior management to align financial goals with business objectives, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and provide leadership to the finance team.

• Financial Strategy and Planning:
• Develop and execute the organization's financial strategy to support business objectives and long-term growth.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting process to ensure accurate financial planning.
• Collaborate with other departments to align financial goals with business initiatives.
• Financial Reporting:
• Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
• Analyze financial data and recommend improvements to optimize financial performance.
• Cash Flow and Treasury Management:
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure the company has sufficient funds for operations.
• Oversee treasury operations, including cash management and banking relationships.
• Mitigate financial risk through effective cash and investment management.
• Financial Operations and Controls:

·      Establish and monitor financial controls to protect the organization's assets and ensure operational efficiency.

·      Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to improve financial operations.

·      Ensure compliance with tax laws, corporate regulations, and audit requirements.

·      Team Leadership and Development:

·      Lead and manage the finance team, ensuring performance targets are met.

·      Provide coaching, training, and professional development opportunities for team members.

·      Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the finance department.

• Stakeholder Communication:
• Report to the Board of Directors and senior management on the financial status of the organization.
• Present financial findings and insights to stakeholders to support decision-making.
• Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, investors, and regulators.
• Risk Management:
• Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Oversee the organization's risk management policies and practices.
• Ensure proper insurance coverage and compliance with financial regulations.

QUALIFICATION:

• B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
• Experience in manufacturing or coatings industry is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and financial modelling.

EXPERIENCE:

• 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
• Minimum of 5 years in a senior management role, ideally as CFO, Senior Finance Manager, or equivalent
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
• Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), GAAP, or ASPE
• Experience with ERP implementation and integration of accounting systems.
• Proven track record in:
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Financial reporting (internal and external)

• Risk management and insurance

• Regulatory compliance and tax reporting

• Leading audits and managing external auditor relationships
