JECO COLLEGE is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Igbo Language Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for teaching and a strong understanding of both Nigerian and British curricula to create a positive and engaging classroom experience for our students. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans for Igbo language and culture.
  • Manage the classroom and learning resources effectively to create an optimal learning environment.
  • Mark assessments, maintain student records, and provide feedback to students and parents.
  • Organize and lead extracurricular activities related to Igbo language and culture.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to develop and evaluate school programs.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Igbo Language, Linguistics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience.
  • Possession of a nationally recognized teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed., PGDE) is an advantage.
  • Strong practical knowledge of computing skills, including Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A genuine passion for teaching and caring for young people.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to learn the Igbo language.
