Job Position: Accountant

Job Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

Summary

  • We are a supermarket of fintech companies seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team.
  • The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, from fixed assets to revenue, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
  • This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting transactions for the group.
  • Prepare budget forecasts.
  • Publish financial statements in time.
  • Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  • Ensure timely bank payments.
  • Compute taxes and prepare tax returns.
  • Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
  • Report on the company's financial health and liquidity.
  • Audit financial transactions and documents.
  • Coordinate with the internal and external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 2-4 years of proven experience as an Accountant.
  • Excellent accounting software user experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Accounting Principles
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Excellent accounting and analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills:

  • Accounting Software: Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
  • Microsoft Office: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Financial Analysis: Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve accounting issues.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Compliance: Knowledge of financial regulations.
