Job Summary

The Head of Production is responsible for overseeing the entire production process in the water production factory, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with safety regulations. This role involves managing production teams, optimising workflows, maintaining equipment, and ensuring that production targets are met. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and experience in beverage or water production.

Key Responsibilities

· Oversee daily production activities, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to production schedules.

· Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.

· Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including NAFDAC and other relevant standards.

· Monitor quality control processes to maintain high product standards in water purification, bottling, and packaging.

· Supervise and provide direction to the Production Supervisors, Machine Operators, and Production Assistants.

· Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure proper machine upkeep and minimise downtime.

· Manage raw material inventory, ensuring proper stock levels to prevent production delays.

· Analyse production data and generate reports on efficiency, waste reduction, and performance improvements.

· Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all production processes.

· Train and mentor production staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

· Work closely with logistics, procurement, and quality assurance teams to streamline operations.

· Handle production-related issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement corrective actions as needed.

· Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements related to water production.

· Manage production budgets, control costs, and reduce waste.

Requirements

· Education: HND/Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Production Management, or a related field.

· Experience:

o Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

o Experience in water production, beverage, or food processing industries is highly preferred.

· Skills & Competencies:

o Strong leadership and team management skills.

o Excellent knowledge of production machinery, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

o Understanding of quality assurance and regulatory standards (e.g., NAFDAC, SON, ISO).

o Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

o Ability to analyse production data and implement process improvements.

o Good understanding of budgeting and cost control in manufacturing.

o Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and production management software.

· Work Conditions:

o Must be willing to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

o Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.

o Must be available for on-call support in case of production emergencies.
