Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a Noise and Vibration Specialist is responsible for assessing, monitoring, and managing environmental and occupational noise and vibration impacts across company operations and projects. The role ensures compliance with applicable regulatory standards and promotes best practices in environmental protection, occupational health, and community well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct baseline noise and vibration surveys for projects, facilities, and equipment operations.
  • Measure environmental and occupational noise and vibration levels using calibrated instruments and recognized standards (e.g., ISO 9612, ISO 2631, BS 5228, or IFC guidelines).
  • Identify key sources of noise and vibration and evaluate their impacts on nearby receptors.
  • Develop and maintain noise and vibration maps or models for project planning and impact prediction.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international noise and vibration regulations (e.g., FMEnv, NESREA, IFC, WHO).
  • Prepare and implement Noise and Vibration Management Plans (NVMP) and monitoring schedules.
  • Monitor construction, production, and transportation activities to ensure adherence to established limits.
  • Support the acquisition and renewal of environmental permits related to acoustic emissions.
  • Recommend engineering controls, process modifications, or operational practices to reduce noise and vibration exposure.
  • Support design teams in selecting low-noise equipment and implementing noise insulation or damping materials.
  • Develop and monitor the effectiveness of noise barriers, enclosures, or isolation systems.
  • Support occupational health teams in maintaining safe noise levels in work areas and promoting hearing conservation programs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics, Physics, or related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in environmental or occupational noise and vibration assessment.
  • Certification or training in acoustics, vibration analysis, or occupational noise management is an added advantage.
  • Hands-on experience using sound level meters, dosimeters, and vibration analyzers.
  • Familiarity with international noise and vibration standards (e.g., ISO 1996, ISO 9612, BS 5228, IFC, WHO guidelines).
  • Experience in environmental impact assessment (EIA/ESIA) and environmental monitoring.
