Job Summary

The Head Civil will be responsible for leading and managing all civil engineering activities of the steel plant, including design review, construction, maintenance, and infrastructure development. The role ensures that all civil works are executed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all civil engineering activities related to plant infrastructure, buildings, foundations, roads, drainage, and utilities
  • Plan, execute, and monitor civil construction works for new projects, expansions, and modifications
  • Review and approve civil designs, drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and cost controls
  • Manage maintenance of existing civil structures and plant facilities
  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian statutory regulations, safety norms, and environmental standards
  • Conduct site inspections, progress reviews, and risk assessments
  • Prepare budgets, estimates, progress reports, and management updates
  • Lead and develop the civil engineering team, including site engineers and supervisors
