About the Role

We are seeking experienced and commercially astute
Material Category Heads
to lead sourcing, supplier management, and procurement operations across multiple key material verticals —
MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing), Concrete, Reinforcement, Finishing ( Paints, Tiles, and related categories).

Each Category Head will take ownership of one major category, ensuring strategic procurement, reliable supplier networks, and cost optimization that support our large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.

This is a high-impact role that requires both strategic thinking and operational execution, combining market intelligence, strong negotiation skills, and deep knowledge of construction materials and supply chains.

Key Responsibilities

1. Category Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and implement category-specific sourcing strategies and frameworks.
• Conduct market and price analyses to identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities.
• Plan annual category budgets, define procurement targets, and monitor performance.
• Standardize specifications and quality benchmarks across supplier partners.

2. Supplier & Vendor Management

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard qualified suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors within the assigned category.
• Build long-term supplier partnerships to enhance reliability and supply consistency.
• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and SLAs that align with company objectives.
• Monitor supplier performance and conduct periodic reviews based on KPIs (delivery, quality, responsiveness).

3. Procurement Operations

• Manage the full procurement lifecycle — RFQ, price comparison, vendor selection, contract execution, and purchase order management.
• Collaborate with Project and Operations teams to forecast demand and plan material supply timelines.
• Ensure timely availability, quality assurance, and cost control for all purchased materials.
• Maintain procurement data accuracy and visibility through ERP or internal digital systems.

4. Market Intelligence & Cost Control

• Track local and global price trends, availability, and regulatory developments.
• Identify supply risks and propose mitigation or alternative sourcing strategies.
• Provide regular category reports on spend, supplier performance, and market movements.
• Advise management on emerging materials, technologies, or innovations within each category.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Finance, Project Management, and Operations teams to align procurement plans with budget and timelines.
• Collaborate with other Category Heads to ensure cohesive and efficient procurement practices across categories.
• Contribute to strategic sourcing projects, supplier development, and process improvements.

• Concrete & Cement
• Reinforcement & Steel
• Finishing Materials (Paints, Tiles, Fittings, Sanitary Wares, Flooring, etc.)
• Other Specialized Construction Inputs

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
  in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 5–10 years' proven experience
  managing procurement or supply chains within the construction or manufacturing industry.
• Deep technical and commercial understanding of one or more material categories listed above.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier relationship management skills.
• Proficiency in
  ERP systems, Excel, and procurement management tools.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting ability.
• Proven track record in achieving measurable cost savings and improving procurement performance.

• Cost savings and budget optimization within category.
• Supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, compliance).
• Procurement cycle efficiency and material availability rates.
• Category spend analysis, reporting accuracy, and supplier diversification.
• Contribution to overall procurement strategy and operational success.
